Privacy policy
BrightPath Admissions shares educational information and offers free matching to independent educational consultants, or IECs, for families across the United States. This privacy policy explains the limited contact information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
We keep our forms simple. If you contact us or ask to be matched, we may collect basic contact details such as your name, email address, phone number, preferred language, state, and whether you are a parent, guardian, or student.
We may also collect the information you choose to share in a message, for example the kind of help you are looking for, your timeline, or whether you want support in a language other than English. We do not need highly sensitive personal information to provide matching.
We do not ask for or require:
- Social Security numbers
- Bank or credit card account numbers
- Immigration status
- Full school records
- Grade point average, or GPA, details unless you voluntarily mention them in a general way
- Test scores unless you voluntarily mention them in a general way
If you visit our website, we may also receive basic technical information that many websites collect automatically, such as your browser type, device type, and pages visited. This helps us keep the site working and understand what information families find useful.
How we use your information
We use the limited information you share to respond to your questions, send educational information you requested, and connect you with independent educational consultants, or IECs, when you ask for a match.
If you complete a matching form, we may share your contact details and general needs with participating IECs so they can decide whether they may be a good fit for your family. Matching is free for families. Participating counselors pay a flat fee to take part in the service.
We may also use your information to:
- Communicate with you about your request
- Improve our website and forms
- Provide customer support
- Help with scheduling or follow-up related to a match request
- Send occasional service updates or educational content, if you asked to receive it
BrightPath Admissions is not a college, admissions office, or counseling practice. We provide educational information and matching only. Any work you choose to do with an IEC is a separate relationship between your family and that counselor.
How we protect information
We aim to collect only what is reasonably needed for communication and matching. Limiting what we collect is one important way we protect privacy.
We use standard administrative, technical, and organizational measures to safeguard the information in our care. No website or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we work to protect the information we receive and to reduce unnecessary risk.
We keep information only for as long as it is reasonably useful for the purposes described in this policy, including responding to requests, improving the service, and meeting legal or operational obligations. When information is no longer needed, we aim to delete it or de-identify it as appropriate.
Your choices
You are in control of what you share. You can choose not to submit a form, and you can avoid including details you are not comfortable sending.
You may contact us to:
- Ask what contact information we have about you
- Request that we update or correct your contact details
- Ask us to stop contacting you
- Request deletion of your contact information, when applicable
If you receive emails from us, you can usually unsubscribe by following the instructions in the message. Please note that we may still need to send limited service messages related to an active request you made, such as a response to a matching inquiry.
For general information about how the service works before you share anything, you can visit Get Matched or Services.
