Terms of use

These Terms of Use explain the basic rules for using BrightPath Admissions. By using our website or services, you agree to these terms, and if you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Acceptance of these terms

By visiting this website, submitting a form, or using any BrightPath Admissions service, you agree to follow these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy, if available on the site.

If you are using the site for a student, such as a parent or guardian, you are responsible for using the service in a lawful and honest way. If a student is under 18, a parent or guardian should review these terms.

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, the updated version will apply to future use of the site. Please review this page occasionally so you understand the current terms.

What BrightPath Admissions does, and does not do

BrightPath Admissions is a free matching service for families. We provide educational information and help connect families with independent educational consultants, or IECs. An IEC is a private college-admissions counselor who works independently, not as part of a college or university.

We are not a college, admissions office, law firm, financial aid office, therapist, school, or IEC. We do not make admissions decisions, and we do not provide legal, immigration, financial, or mental health advice.

Our role is limited to:
- sharing general educational information
- helping families understand the US college-admissions process
- matching families with participating IECs who may be a good fit

Our role does not include:
- guaranteeing admission to any college or university
- guaranteeing scholarships, financial aid, or merit awards
- guaranteeing a Grade Point Average, or GPA, test score, or application result
- completing applications for students
- writing or editing essays on a student's behalf
- acting as an IEC or providing one-on-one counseling ourselves

Participating counselors pay BrightPath Admissions a flat fee to be included in the matching service. Matching is free for families.

No guarantees, and your responsibility as a user

College admissions is competitive and unpredictable. No part of this website, and no match through BrightPath Admissions, creates any promise or guarantee of admission, transfer, visa outcome, scholarship, financial aid package, or any other result.

Information on this site is for general educational purposes only. While we try to keep content useful and current, college policies, deadlines, and requirements change often. You are responsible for checking official college websites and application platforms for the latest details.

If you choose to work with a matched IEC, that relationship is between you and the counselor. You should review their services, policies, pricing, and agreement carefully before hiring them.

Students must do their own academic and application work. A counselor may coach and guide, but the student's application, essays, and submissions should reflect the student's own work and voice.

Appropriate use of the site

You agree to use this website honestly, respectfully, and only for lawful purposes. Do not misuse the site, interfere with its operation, or submit false, misleading, or harmful information.

When contacting us or requesting a match through Get Matched, please share only the information reasonably needed for us to respond and provide the service. Do not send highly sensitive personal information through the site.

You may not:
- copy, scrape, or republish large portions of the site without permission
- use the site to harass, impersonate, or mislead others
- attempt to access restricted areas or disrupt the site
- use BrightPath Admissions content as a substitute for professional legal, immigration, tax, or financial advice

We may suspend or limit access to the site if we believe someone is violating these terms or using the service in a harmful way.

Limitations, outside links, and contact

BrightPath Admissions provides the website and service on an "as is" basis to the extent allowed by law. We do not guarantee that the site will always be available, error-free, secure, or complete. We are not responsible for losses or decisions that result from relying only on general information found on the site.

This website may include links to other pages on our site, such as Our Services or Guides, and may sometimes refer users to outside websites for official information. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or availability of third-party websites.

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest will still apply.

If you have questions about these Terms of Use, please contact BrightPath Admissions through the contact method listed on our website. If you are ready to learn more about how matching works, visit Get Matched.
